Andrea Pappin, one of our founders, has worked on two Irish Presidencies. The first was in 2004 with the Department of Foreign Affairs (who led that Presidency at the time). During the most recent Presidency in 2013 she was the Official Spokesperson in the Department of the Taoiseach. So when Ireland takes the helm of the Council of the EU in July 2026, she’s got a fairly good idea of what that means in practice.

The official programme of events and legislative programme will not land until summer out of respect for the current Cypriot Presidency. Here is what you need to know now, and what you can realistically be doing about it.
